Benguela selects Prescient Ireland for fund admin

Benguela has selected Prescient Ireland for UCITS ManCo and fund administration services.

Benguela Global Fund Managers was established in 2013, and currently has assets under management of $360 million.

It manages South African and global equity mandates out of Johannesburg.

Karl Gevers, head of research at Benguela, said: “With our quality-focused investment philosophy, Benguela has generated consistent market-beating returns for our clients.”

“We selected Prescient Ireland as the management company and administrator of the Benguela Global Equity Fund as we already had a relationship in South Africa with Prescient.”

“Prescient also offered us the most attractive overall offering. The reason we decided to set up a UCITS fund is because of the high level of investor protection provided by it, which will give added peace of mind to the fund investors. UCITS will also allow Benguela to grow the funds global distribution.”
